"I've only got one dog. How much difference could it make if I don't pick up his poop?"
The truth is that with more than 77.5 million dogs in the USA alone, their impact on our environment is substantial. Pet waste can contain pathogens and parasites that pose a health risk to other dogs and people - especially kids. AND it's a source of water pollution. Even if you don't live near a major body of water, the dog poop in your own yard will eventually breakdown and pollute your water table.
While it may not seem like the most environmentally friendly solution, most municipalities advocate sealing dog poop in a plastic bag and putting it in your trash.* Dog poop is NOT compostable and should never be added to your clean green waste.
*Check your local ordinances for the disposal recommendations in your area.
ADVOCACY
ScooPup Pocket sales generate a means for Tiny Growl to give back to animal welfare organizations that are as serious about their love and respect for dogs and all animals as we are.
Since we began, sales of The ScooPup Pocket have allowed us to donate to local groups such as The Seattle Humane Society and The Dugan Foundation. We have also been moved to get involved with groups like The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW.org), as we did after the 2010 Haitian earthquake, and to help organize the Seattle 2010 Puppy Up! Walk, for 2milliondogs.org
Tiny Growl's goal is to sell enough The ScooPup Pockets to be able to make a positive difference to dogs in need, quietly or otherwise.
